Examined differential relationships among child domain (CD) and parent domain (PD) scores of the Parenting Stress Index (PSI) and child disruptive behaviors (DBs) as measured by the Eyberg Child Behavior Inventory (ECBI). Ss were 165 children (aged 2-20 yrs) referred for psychological evaluation. PSI CD and PD scores correlated significantly with ECBI intensity and problem scores; CD scores were significantly more highly correlated with ECBI scores than were PD scores. Correlations of ECBI problem and intensity scores with the PSI were not significantly different. No significant differences were found between single- and 2-parent families in the number of child DBs reported as problems.
