This article describes Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), a short-term evidence-based parent training program for families with 2 to 6 year old children between experiencing behavioral, emotional, or developmental problems. Its theoretical underpinnings and an overview of past empirical investigations of effectiveness, generalization, and maintenance are presented. |
